Conned

I was conned. I was conned by an adorable little Thai girl in cute traditional Thai garb at the bottom of a sacred holy temple in Chiang Mai.

Hello?! Does anybody else find this remotely un-Buddhist-like? Conned at the steps of Doi Suthep, one of the most well-known temples in Chiang Mai.

I’m pretty they teach these young ones two english words when they are old enough to speak. ‘Hello’ and ‘Money.’ This cutie approached me, said hello, hugged my leg as I photographed her, and then yelled “money, money, money.” OK you little bugger!

I knew it was a trap and I walked right into it. Wouldn’t you! 20 baht to the girl at the temple.
