Why I love this city!

Singapore is clean & has strict rules, and from my tour guides they demand punctuality and order. This place is me to a T. There are stunning views and a clean river. Just check out the views from the observation wheel, which by the way is the largest in the world!

There are more dining options here than I’ve seen anywhere- Indian, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Mexican, Western, Moroccan, Mediterranean- they have them all plus a few of their own signature dishes like popiah (my favorite!) Hianese Chicken Rice (Lil’s favorite) and glutinous rice balls! It’s like all of Asia rolled into one little clean place. And you can find bubble tea virtually anywhere and milk tea:O)

Have I mentioned my addiction to those squishy little tapioca balls! !

There are cameras everywhere though i.e. Big Brother is watching you constantly but who cares when you’re in what Charles, our tour guide, says is the ‘safest place in the world.’ That’s some claim to fame right there, and it does feel safe.

Singapore is FUN- as in I feel like a little kiddie again what with the observation wheel and the G-Max Extreme Reverse Bungee! It was awesome. Let the video do the talking or rather me since I don’t seem to shut up! No surprise there! If this doesn’t give you a laugh I don’t know what will because after Lil and I watched ourselves my tummy hurt and she had tears in her eyes!

And another reason why we have enjoyed our time in Singapore is also because of where we stayed- a hostel. *GASP* Now don’t get me wrong two nights in a hostel is plenty, but for these two nights in Singapore we didn’t mind our centrally located shared bathroom and 6-female bedroom dorm. The ladies who run Five Stones Hostel are super nice and very helpful. When a load of our laundry wasn’t finished they neatly folded our clothes and put them in our room. The decor of the building is very chic, and there is a small nook area to watch movies and hang out or you can read one of the many books on their shelves- nice place to relax especially when it’s raining!
